Seller terms

The rules for selling on iogen.io, which is operated by Black Hole Visuals LLC. Short enough to read in five minutes.

Plain-language version. The full legal wording is still being reviewed, so details may change. Questions: [email protected].

Money

  • What iogen takes. Your rate is shown on your seller home before you list anything, and each sale shows its lines one by one: the price, the card fee, iogen's fee and what you keep. There are no listing fees and no monthly fee.
  • Your rate stays. Founding sellers keep their starting rate in writing for at least 3 years. For everyone, a change to iogen's fee needs 90 days' notice and never applies to products already listed during that notice.
  • Getting paid. You choose daily, weekly or monthly payouts, in your own currency, once your balance reaches $40. A smaller balance is never lost: it carries over, and is paid out if you close your account. New sellers' payouts wait a while after each sale for their first 60 days, and larger sales wait out the refund window.
  • Taxes. iogen is the seller of record and, once tax collection is switched on, charges and files VAT and sales tax on each sale. You are responsible for your own income tax.
  • Your prices. You set your prices and sales. There is no price-parity rule: sell the same product cheaper anywhere you like.

Refunds and disputes

  • Refunds. You set the refund window for each product; the default is 7 days. Before a buyer downloads, a refund inside the window is paid at once. After, you accept or refuse with a reason, and the buyer can ask iogen to look. A refund comes out of your balance together with the card fee Stripe keeps; iogen returns its own fee.
  • Chargebacks. iogen answers every dispute with the download and activation records. If a dispute is lost, the sale and Stripe's dispute fee come out of your balance. If it's won, nothing changes.

What you can sell

  • Tools only: plugins, project files, software and presets. Output from image or video diffusion models (Midjourney, Stable Diffusion and the like) can't be the product, or be used to show off what a tool or its art can do. Diffusion images may appear as decoration. AI-based utility tools such as depth maps and tracking are fine.
  • Provenance label. Every listing carries an honest label: hand-built, AI-assisted or AI-built. Any AI-written code makes a product at least AI-assisted.
  • Review. A person looks over your first release before it goes live: the files, the listing and what the automatic archive checks found. It isn't a full code or security audit. After that, releases publish once the automatic checks pass.
  • Versions. Every release stays downloadable for the people who bought it. You can mark a release broken; you can't delete one buyers rely on.
  • Removals. A takedown always names the rule broken and the facts, and you can appeal by replying to the email.

Your buyers

You see the email of each buyer who leaves the sharing switch on at checkout. Use it for support and for updates on what they bought. Only buyers who also tick "tell me about their other work" can be emailed about your other products. You can export the list. Buyers' data is covered by the privacy page.

Plans and credits

You choose, per product, whether to accept subscriber credits, and you see what you would be paid before opting in. You can also sell your own plan: you set the price, the credits it gives and how long they last. Once someone subscribes, the plan's price, period and credits stay as they signed up for.

Working with others

  • Collaborations. Sellers can share a product and propose how its earnings are split. A split takes effect only when every seller it involves has accepted, and applies to sales from then on. Each collaborator is paid their share directly, and fees, refunds and disputes are split the same way.
  • Fair ranking. Search never favours any seller, including iogen.
  • Leaving. Selling here is non-exclusive: sell elsewhere too. Close your account any time; buyers keep their downloads, and you take your buyer list and your balance.
