Software license
What you can do with iogen packs, plugins and free tools. The short answer for working artists: yes, use them professionally.
Draft. This page is a working outline for review, not final legal text. It will be checked before the store opens.
The short version
- Paid gigs, clubs, festivals and tours?
- Yes.
- Work for clients, brands and agencies?
- Yes.
- Broadcast, streaming and recorded video?
- Yes, including footage you sell or license.
- More than one machine?
- Yes. Install on every machine you use, including backup rigs and venue machines you operate.
- Change it, take it apart, learn from it?
- Yes.
- Royalties or credit required?
- No. A credit is always appreciated, never required.
- Share or sell the files themselves?
- No, changed or unchanged. That's the one thing this license holds back.
Paid products
- Who it covers. The person or company that bought it, and anyone working for them on their shows and projects, such as a VJ crew or studio staff.
- What you can make. Anything: live performances, installations, streams, broadcasts, music videos, client work and recordings, free or paid, in any number.
- Where it runs. On as many machines as you use for your own work. Plugins that check a license file say so on their product page.
- What you keep. The license doesn't expire. Your purchases stay in your library to download again, with updates.
- What you can't do. Give away, resell or upload the files (the compositions, presets, plugins or their parts) for others to use, or sell them as part of another pack or template.
Free closed tools
Free to use in your own work, including paid and commercial work, under the same terms as paid products. They're provided as is, without warranty.
